I have Kali Linux (kernel version ) and prefer not to upgrade to (if I should, well, ok) When I do apt-get update I get E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old. I keep getting such errors: None of these work for me guys, I've tried to change the sources in the blogger.com files by enabling one, disabling the other and still no avail, I even tried to connect to the internet using wired instead of wifi.

What I found is that I'm using Sophos UTM as my router, and for some reason it wouldn't update haven't investigated the cause. The work around for me was to bypass the security appliance and use my basic home wifi. I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but it caused me several hours of frustration and made me a not very happy camper.
